Renewable Energy and Environmental Industries
Renewables East
Assisted by the East of England Development Agency, Renewables East provides support and expertise in the areas of Offshore, On-site and Biomass renewables. It enables companies to network and gain funding and has forged close relationships with 11 universities and a number of engineering companies.

East of England Energy Group
The initiative provides a range of support services including technology transfer, networking, promoting products and services and sign posting. Business activities supported cover biomass derivatives, bio fuels, geothermal, hydro, wind, solar, wave and tidal energy.

Creative and Media
Screen East
The organisation supports and promotes the film and media culture through 4 departments: locations; production; enterprise and skills; and audiences and education. It covers Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk and the unitary areas of Luton, Peterborough, Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock and is funded by EEDA and Film Council.
Via lottery funding, funds are allocated to filmmakers for production, with professional guidance. The Screen Content Investment Fund provides access to finance; directory and contacts to studios and a crew database.

East of England Multi Media Alliance
The organisation is dedicated to the promotion and growth of the digital industries, focusing on website design; software development; 3D design and virtual prototyping; digital video; animation; TV/ film-making/corporate videos; E-learning; CD Rom/DVD production and games development.
It provides networking, trade missions and training as well as an international help desk with specialist international knowledge and contacts, a directory of suppliers and regular workshops. Membership is on an annual basis and free of charge.

The Arts Council funds creative organisations nationally, and the office for the East has set up well known initiatives such as Essex Dance and Aldeburgh Music.
